Facilities
General
The venue is suitable for many different functions including parties, dances, quizzes, wedding receptions, regular or one-off meetings, fund raising, clubs, children’s parties and many other social or formal events.
The venue is fully compliant with all current disabled legislation and features ramped access and wide doorways. The main facilities are all on one level. There are disabled toilet facilities (with baby changing table) and an induction hearing loop system in the main Hall.
The Trustees carry out regular checks to make sure that all latest regulations are in place. Users can be assured that all relevant, safety, fire, gas and electrical regulations are current.
The hall
The large hall has a stage area with lighting if requested. A star curtain at the back of the stage can be hired for a modest extra fee.
The hall can accommodate an audience of up to 140 seated in rows or between 80 and 100 guests at tables, depending on the function. There is a variety of seating plans to adopt or adapt as appropriate. There are sufficient tables and chairs for use in all scenarios.
The hall can be divided, by a movable wall to a third or two thirds of full size to suit your event should you choose to have a cosier space. The charge remains the same for whatever configuration you require. Arrangements to have the wall in place or folded back must be made in advance of your event and must be operated by the Caretaker.
Bar
The hall is a licensed premise, much like a pub and on no account may alcohol be brought into and consumed on the premises. There is no extra charge for using the bar facility.
The bar is fully stocked with bottled, canned and keg beers, spirits and mixers and a selection of wines: all available at reasonable prices. Alcohol can only be consumed from purchases made from the bar. Should your event require some non-standard drinks, we can source those for you - just let us know your requirements on booking the hall.
We now have the facility for you to pay by debit or credit card when making purchases at the bar.
Kitchen
The hall has a large modern well equipped kitchen with full facilities and the capacity to serve around 100 people. For use in this kitchen is a 5 burner gas cooker with a 2 shelf oven below; which is supplemented by electric and food warmers, several large kettles, cupboards full of cups, saucers and plate and there is ample cutlery. A central stainless steel kitchen table, approximately 2 metres by one metre, provides a large area for food preparation. There are other work surfaces, a double stainless steel sink with drawers and also a separate hand-washing sink.
A small kitchenette is available for use with the hall as well as the kitchen described above.
Toilets
We have facilities for ladies, men and disabled.
Within the disabled toilet there is a baby changing table.
Car Parking
We have parking areas to the front and rear of the building. These can accommodate approximately 30 cars.
Ways to Pay
Bookings
For bookings you can pay by; bank transfer, bank details will be on your booking advice; or by cheque made payable to Hatfield Broad Oak Village Hall Fund.
Early payment will secure your booking - please pay promptly.
Weekly Events
If you are attending one of the weekly events such as keep fit, yoga, line dancing or bowls, please pay the organiser of the event that you are attending.
